The email Control Panel provides a set of tools to fully manage how email sends and receives through your domain.
Split Domain
Splitting a domain sends mail to more than one server at a time. Splitting is generally used as a temporary measure when migrating a large number of email addresses over at a time and require certain addresses to remain on a previous mail server when migrating to Speedyrails. A split domain can ensure that mail is consistently delivered to mailboxes on more than one server as your mailboxes transition over.
A split domain can also route email received by a public-facing email address to a third party server that specializes in filtering spam, viruses, or other malicious code from your email.
To activate domain splitting:
- From the Speedyrails Manager, click Manage Mailboxes to open the Control Panel.
- Click Domains.
- Click Split Domain.
- Check the check box to Enable Split Domain Routing.
- Fill in the External Mail Server address and Verification Address.
- Click Save.
After setting the domain, check the verification address inbox for a verification link.
Email Everyone
Email Everyone allows you to send an email to all hosted mailboxes on your domain. This tool can make announcements to your team, or as a diagnostic tool to verify that email addresses and mailboxes are working as expected.
To use the Email Everyone tool:
- From the Speedyrails Manager, click Manage Mailboxes to open the Control Panel.
- Click Domains.
- Click Email Everyone.
- Fill in the required fields.
- Click Send.
Disclaimers
Your mailbox can include a disclaimer on all email sent from mailboxes hosted on the domain. If your organization requires disclaimers on all emails as part of its terms of service, you can set one in either plain text or HTML format.
To add a Disclaimer:
- From the Speedyrails Manager, click Manage Mailboxes to open the Control Panel.
- Click Domains.
- Click Disclaimer.
- Fill in the disclaimer in either plain text or HTML format.
- Click Save.
Once configured, all emails sent from the domain will include a disclaimer.
Catch-All Address
A Catch-All Address will receive all emails sent to your domain that do not have a mailbox associated with them. For example, if john@yourdomain.com receives an email and john@yourdomain.com is not a valid email address, the email will forwards to your Catch-All Address instead of returning to the sender with an error.
To enable a Catch-All Address:
- From the Speedyrails Manager, click Manage Mailboxes to open the Control Panel.
- Click Domains.
- Click Catch-All Address.
- Select Activate Catch-All Address.
- Enter the email address you wish to use as a catch-all address.
- Click Save.
External Blacklist Lookup
Certain organizations specialize in blacklisting email addresses that come from domains known to send spam email. When blocked as a potential spam source, emails sent from your domain will fail to send and will be reported at blaggregate.emailsrvr.com.
In case of this event, an administrator must contact the blacklist organization and request removal.
Speedyrails and its email partner provides a list of blacklist organizations on blaggregate.emailsrvr.com.
